For the first time ever, the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival comes to Hawaii! A project of the Coalition for Quality Childrens Media, KIDS FIRST! films are free of gratuitous violence; race, gender, or religious bias; and condescension towards kids. Age-appropriate groupings of classic, independent, short and sneak preview films entertain through a balance of animation and live action, plus varied themes from different cultures. Cool Schools, ages 5-10, TRT: 72 minutes. Special Sneak Peek! Eloise Goes to School, 45 min From book to screen to animated TV series, Eloise is full of fun. Now her tutor has quit and shes going to the prestigious Hawthorne Academy. Eloise soon learns that there is a lot more to school than she had planned - mean girls, strict teachers and lots of rules, rules, rules! Going to School in India, Part 1, 27 min Winner of multiple awards, a celebration of what school can be, told through the eyes of children who go to school under different circumstances. Highlights Indias extreme landscape and the indomitable spirits of children. Three episodes: Going to School in a Mud Desert; Going to School in the Lake; Going to School on a Mountaintop.
