Storyteller Jeff Gere continues his irreguar monthly storytelling at Kahala's hospitable Barnes & Noble Bookstore with another children's session: June 2, 11am free. Jeff Gere, Kaimuki resident, director of the Talk Story Festival & host of the Talk Story Radio show (weekly on Hawaii Public Radio's KIPO (89.3 FM) Mon @ 5:30pm chooses to give monthly storytellings to B&N because, "they are by FAR the most hospitable, the most organized, the most welcoming bookstore on Oahu". Jeff will receive the National Storytelling Network's Oracle award for service to Storytelling in St. Luis later in July. His CD, RAnk Devil Mountain, featuring 3 fire folktales told with 3 musicians was recently chosen as one of the outstanding Storytelling REcordings for 2007 by Storytelling World. This is the first time anyone from from Hawaii has received such awards. Come see for yourself what this kickin' jivin' story talkin' dude can do!
