For the first time ever, the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival comes to Hawaii! A project of the Coalition for Quality Childrens Media, KIDS FIRST! films are free of gratuitous violence; race, gender, or religious bias; and condescension towards kids. Age-appropriate groupings of classic, independent, short and sneak preview films entertain through a balance of animation and live action, plus varied themes from different cultures. Tails and Adventures, ages 5-12, TRT: 85 minutes. Big Top Winkle, 37 min Journeying along the railroad tracks, Mr. Winkle (a real dog!) arrives in the mythical town of Waggsville. He innocently upstages a ragtag gypsy circus. Each member of the desperate circus troop attempts to capture and exploit Mr. Winkle, but he continually eludes them in hilarious and surprising ways. Prehistoric Park, 48 min Plus Door Prizes and Free Stickers! Zoologist and wildlife expert Nigel Marven is sent to rescue dinosaurs for the Prehistoric Park. He must bring them back to the present day before the very meteor that brought about the extinction of the dinosaurs collides with Earth. Features amazing animatronic models and spectacular CGI. A University of Hawaii at Manoa Centennial Celebration event. Programming provided by KIDS FIRST!
