LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD BOYS AND YOUNG MEN
- Diamond Head Theatre Holding Auditions for "Shooting Stars"
HONOLULU, Hawaii (August 20, 2008) – The Diamond Head Theatre “Shooting Stars” (youth performing troupe) will be holding auditions for boys and young men ages 7 - 17 on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Kapiolani Community College Chapel (on-campus, white building on Diamond Head Road). Registration begins at 1:30 p.m.; auditions will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.
"We had a great turn-out during our recent auditions for the program," said DHT's Artistic Director John Rampage. "There were many talented children who auditioned, and we are now focusing on filling the remaining spots with boys and young men to bring balance to the group overall."
Auditioning children should be prepared with sheet music that is age appropriate and in their own key. An accompanist will be provided, and there are no transpositions on site, tapes, karaoke, or a cappella allowed. There will be a dance audition; children should be dressed for movement and wear shoes.

The Diamond Head Theatre “Shooting Stars” are under the direction of DHT’s award-winning Artistic Director John Rampage. The program offers comprehensive training in all areas of musical theatre production, including different dance styles, voice, production set-up and design, and full-scale theatre performances.
The DHT Shooting Stars have entertained audiences for over 10 years with an extensive repertoire of show tunes and choreography. They have performed in New York at City Center, and locally at Washington Place, Hilton Hawaiian Village, in Jim Nabors’ Christmas show, at The Honolulu Advertiser’s ‘Ilima Awards, and with the Honolulu Symphony. The Shooting Stars have also staged their own productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Damn Yankees, 42nd Street, Cinderella, Hello, Dolly! and Into the Woods Jr.
