Mesmerizing renditions of colorful Chinese folk, classical and modern dance performed by renowned award-winning troupe.

Phoenix Dance Chamber, an award-winning Chinese dance company, will perform at Kaimuki Public Library on Sunday, June 28 at 2 p.m. in the Adult Section. Admission is free.

Phoenix Dance Chamber (PDC) is comprised of an international cross-section of dancers who share a common interest in Chinese dance. The performance group features a repertoire of more than 50 dances from different ethnic groups and regions of China. The dances are choreographed by professionals in China, Professor Liu Youlan of the Beijing Dance Academy, or Diane Letoto, PDC Director.

The dance company has won numerous awards in the Annual North America Chinese Dance Competition conducted in Vancouver, Canada. It is affiliated with the Hawaii Foundation for Chinese Culture and Arts, a non-profit organization established for the appreciation of Chinese heritage in Hawaii.


The Friends of Kaimuki Library is sponsoring this 30-minute performance which is recommended for all ages.

Contact the library as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
