called Maunalua Mondays--Presentation 20 mins / Q&A 20 mins.
Presentations are designed to connect the community with current information
about water quality, the near shore reefs of Maunalua, volunteer and community
based programs, etc. Topics will vary so drop in or attend regularly to learn
what’s new or how you can get more involved. Attendees are invited to
suggest topics.

7am-10pm Putting together a recipe for
success, Whole Foods Market’s Kahala and Kahului stores, will be donating
five percent of the stores’ proceeds to help fund the production of the
movie “Ingredients Hawai’i”, a 30-minute film with
leaders in Hawaii’s local food movement to inspire Hawaii’s people
to know where their food comes from, source locally and even grow more of their
own food.

Event Saturday, July 24, Noon to
4pm All Kahala Mall merchants will be
featuring LOCAL/Made in Hawaii products. Local vendors and farmers will be
showcasing their products throughout the malls. Local Chef Ed Kenney of town in
Kaimuki will be cooking up some local recipes on Center Stage at Noon and an all
local fashion show will be at 3pm.

A Whole Change for Hawaii’s
Homeless July through September
30 In an effort to educate the community
on the issue of homelessness, Whole Foods Market Kahala and Aloha United
Way have teamed up to create “A Whole Change for the
Homeless” project. We will have jars placed at each register where
customers can donate their loose change. All the money collectedat the end of
the program will be donated to Aloha United Way’s Homeless Impact Area,
which supports programs aimed at reducing the number of homeless individuals on
Oahu through coordinated efforts with its various partner agencies.

Events: ARTSPREE @ The Contemporary
Museum at Makiki Heights Saturday,
July 10, 10am-4pm - FREE The
17th annual ArtSpree will be an all-day event held on the museum
grounds featuring opportunities for visitors to interact with contemporary art
through hands-on activities, demonstrations, storytelling, dance and music
performances.
Whole Foods Market Kahala will be sponsoring
the ArtSpree Green Team with an assortment of prizes for all keiki participating
in the Green Team Scavenger Hunt at the event.
