Choreographer and modern dance artist Keiko Fujii returns to Kennedy Theatre to present "Hana--The Flower II." Featured in this one-time only Honolulu matinee is a portion of an original work that Ms. Fujii premiered for members of the royal families of Japan and Denmark in an exclusive concert last February in Tokyo.

Based on Japanese folklore, the legend of Amida Pond, and themed around the pressures of modern society, "Hana--The Flower II" fuses traditional Japanese dance elements with modern movement. The production features performers from Ms. Fujii's Osaka-based dance company and from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Department of Theatre and Dance. Visual effects are provided by Hawai'i photographer Dean Sensui and costumes by Hideko Sugai of DECO Japan, Inc.
