ABOUT KIRK CALDWELL


The vision to know where to lead Honolulu, and the experience to take us there.

Born in Waipahu in a plantation hospital and raised in Hilo, Kirk Cladwell grew up with a sense of community and a passion for solving problems that he has that he has brought into his adult life. Kirk worked for Senator Dan Inouye in Washington, DC and for nearly 30 years in the private sector. He served in the Hawaii State House of Representatives, where he rose to become the Majority Leader.

After serving as the Managing Director of the City and County of Honolulu for two years, Kirk is now Acting Mayor.

With deep roots in Hawaii and a lifetime of service to our city, Acting Mayor Kirk Caldwell is working to bring a new day to Honolulu.

Kirk’s Plan for Honolulu:

• Stimulate job growth and promote economic recovery across Oahu
  
• Invest in infrastructure for public transportation, clean drinking water, recycling garbage and sewer systems
  
• Relocate the homeless population from our parks and beaches into shelters and assistance programs
  
• Make city government more accessible, transparent and accountable to the people of Honolulu
