The Oahu Wind Quintet will perform a free concert at Aina Haina Public Library on Saturday, November 13 at 1 p.m. in front of the Meeting Room.

The quintet is comprised of Jonathan Higa, Flute; Benjamin Peters, Oboe; Ronald Hirai, Clarinet; Thomas Edwards, Bassoon; and Benjamin Gascon, French Horn. Each member of this versatile ensemble has made music their life-long commitment by performing, directing and teaching in Hawaii and on the Mainland.

Oahu Wind Quintet musicians also perform with other ensembles including: the Oahu Civic Orchestra, Oahu Chamber Orchestra, the Honolulu Community Concert Band, the Kamuela Philharmonic, and Mango Season.

The concert will feature chamber music for wind quintet by composers such as Darius Milhaud and Daiske Mogi. Each selection is based on music from a variety of different cultures.

The Friends of the Aina Haina Library are sponsoring this one-hour program which is suitable for all ages. Contact the Library as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed.
