Zakariya Amataya, Thailand's award-winning, Ginsberg-inspired, Sunni hipster poet joins local slam poet favorite Kealoha in an evening of poetry from the edge.

Amataya is the 2010 winner of the S.E.A. Write Award for poetry, a first in numerous categories. He is the first poetry winner who writes primarily in free verse and not rhyme and Thailand's first Muslim recipient. Born in Narathiwat province, one of Thailand's three Muslim-majority southern provinces, Amataya's poetry often pulls from the struggles associated with this part of south-east Asia.
Kealoha is the recognized leader of slam poetry in Hawaii. He is the founder of 'HawaiiSlam, Youth Speaks Hawaii', a participant in the Artists in the Schools program, and has finished as high as 8th in the National Poetry Slam.
