Ocean Literacy Day at the Waikiki Aquarium. Demonstrating reading is fun, the Waikiki Aquarium will host its 2nd annual Ocean Literacy Day, offering a whale of a tale of activities, storytelling, and mythological creatures from under the sea.

Celebrity storytellers will read from popular books about the ocean and its underwater creatures while costumed characters entertain on the lawn and mystical mermaids whirl throughout the event.



Keiki activities will include arts and crafts, storytelling and creative movement.

The Royal Hawaiian Band will also perform songs about Hawaii’s beautiful marine life.




Sponsored by ABC Stores, Aqua Hotels and Resorts, Diamond Bakery and special activities from Crayola and Lego.

Event participation will be included in daily admission. Daily admission is $6 for local residents, active duty military with ID, students with ID and senior citizens; $4 for youths ages 13-17 and persons with disabilities; $2 for juniors ages 5 - 12; and free for children 4 and under and Friends of Waikiki Aquarium members.
