PLOT SYNOPSIS
Sunset Boulevard weaves a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition. Silent movie star Norma Desmond longs for a return to the big screen, having been discarded by tinsel town with the advent of "talkies". She's eccentric, but what great star of silent films wouldn't be after years of public indifference? Miss Desmond is the kind of woman who might wear pantaloons or a lampshade...behavior that needn't be considered crazy, just evidence of self-assurance--to an extreme degree! When she gazes into the mirror, she sees only the image she holds in her mind. When Norma meets struggling Hollywood screenwriter Joe Gillis under somewhat dramatic circumstances, their subsequent passionate and volatile relationship leads to an unforeseen and tragic conclusion.
