When an individual is asked to implement and sustain a vision, a lot of support is needed through connections of the heart, soul and mind. As a leader, they have to be careful to remain steadfast in making decisions that come with challenges. Ho'olaule'a 2012 honors ALL those leaders who “hold the torch that brings light” and who maintain Princess Pauahi’s vision to educate Hawaiian keiki, preparing them to become good and industrious men and women. With leaders who fight for what is right, and perpetuate the passion of Princess Pauahi, Kamehameha will continue to be successful.

Please join with us on this special day of celebration, as we come together as one 'ohana in support of this vision for all Hawaiians and future leaders who will be embraced by all. The Class of 2014 (Sophomores) has been given the gift of leadership in preparing and hosting the 82nd Annual Ho'olaule'a, to be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the grounds of our beautiful Kapälama campus.

This year’s Ho'olaule'a theme, 'O ka Lama e Ho'omälamalama (The Torch that Brings Light), recognizes those who are, or have been an integral inspiration in our lives. Whether it is cultural, spiritual or educational, we look to them to guide us on the right path; the path that is pono. As we travel on our journey, we do not forget our heritage, our culture and those who came before to make our road easier to travel.
