Father Damien, now Saint Damien, was born in Belgium in 1840 and came to Hawai’i in 1864. He was ordained at Our Lady of Peace Cathedral and in 1873 chose to serve the needs of people with Hansen's disease who had been forcibly relocated to an isolated peninsula on the island of Moloka`i.

Join us for this riveting drama of Saint Damien's life in Hawaii by Aldyth Morris. Performed by Hawai’i actor Dann Seki. Dann is a stage and screen actor as well as a storyteller. He is a member of the Screen Actors guild (SAG), the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) and the Hawai’i State Theatre Council (HSTC).

From Aiea, Hawai’i, Dann has degrees in Audiology and Health Services Administration. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous local commercials, most of the television shows filmed in Hawai’i, and on stage at many of the local theatres. A storyteller since 1994, he has performed statewide at various libraries and senior centers; at the Windward Community College Storytelling Festival, the Talk Story Festival, First Night Hawai’i, and on a statewide tour of “Pearl Harbor Remembered,” to name but a few.
