All auditions for Diamond Head Theatre productions, unless otherwise specified, are held in the DHT Rehearsal Hall. Diamond Head Theatre is located at 520 Makapuu Avenue, across the street from Kapiolani Community College. Parking is available in the theatres parking lot located behind the building. The Rehearsal Hall is located at the back of the theatre; enter through the door that says Costume Shop.
For musicals: At the audition, be prepared to sing (Broadway-style sheet music in your own key: no transpositions on site, no tapes, no Karaoke, no a cappella), dance (wear appropriate shoes and clothes) and read (perusal scripts available at the Diamond Head Theatre Box Office). Audition requirements may change to suit the needs of the production's director.
For plays: Auditions generally consists of readings from the script. Audition requirements may change to suit the needs of the production's director.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Please prepare an up-tempo or balled that shows off your vocal range from the traditional Broadway repertoire i.e. Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner & Loewe, Porter, Gershwin, etc. No Phantom, Les Miz, Miss Saigon, Spring Awakening, Rent, Altar Boyz. No a capella, recorded music, and transpositions will be allowed. Please bring appropriate clothes and shoes (character and tap shoes) as you may be asked to dance.
FANNY BRICE - This role will be played by Ms. Isabelle Decauwert
MRS. BRICE (FANNY'S MOTHER) - This role will be played by Ms. Shari Lynn
NICK ARNSTEIN - A gambler and the love of Fannys life. Suave, sophisticated, and charming. 35 to 50 years old. Must have a strong middle range voice, but no dancing required.
EDDIE RYAN - A song and dance man and Fannys closest friend. Must be a strong singer/dancer with good comic timing. Has three songs and one big production number. 25 to 35 years old.
MRS. STRAKOSH - Mrs. Brices poker playing croney. A strong comedic part, she also sings "If A girl Isnt Pretty" and "Find Yourself A Man". 40 to 60 years old.
MRS. MEEKER - Another of Mrs. Brices cohorts. Sings part of "If A Girl Isnt Pretty", also a comedienne. 40 to 60 year old.
MRS. O'MALLEY - The 4th in Mrs. Brices quartet of friends. Sings part of "If A Girl Isnt Pretty". Irish accent, 40 to 60 years old.
FLORENZ ZIEGFELD, JR - The famed Broadway producer. This is a non-singing nondancing role. Elegant and distinguished. 50 to 70 year old.
TOM KEENEY - A tough Vaudeville producer who gives Fanny her first break. This is a non-singing, nondancing role. 40 to 60 year old.
JOHN THE STAGE MANAGER - Stage Manager at the Ziegfeld Follies. Adult of any age also doubles in the Ensemble.
EMMA - Fannys dresser and confidante. 25 to 40 years old. May double in the Ensemble.
BUBBLES, PAULY & MAUDE - Three featured singer/dancers at Keeneys Music Hall. 18 to 30 years old. Must double in the Ensemble.
MIMSEY, CATHY, VERA & JENNY - Four Ziegfeld showgirls. Must be tall and statuesque. 18 to 35 years old. May or may not double in the Ensemble.
ZIEGFELD TENOR - Sings "The Most Beautiful Bride In The World". High production style tenor. Any age. May or may not double in the Ensemble.
MR. RENALDI - A theatrical agent. Middle aged. Urbane. May or may not double in the Ensemble.
LEAD MALE DANCER IN THE FOLLIES - A strong male dancer, featured in 2 production numbers. May double in the Ensemble.
EIGHT FEMALE ENSEMBLE - Must be strong singers and dancers. Also play a variety of small speaking roles

FUNNY GIRL Sunday, August 12 at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 13 at 7:00 p.m.
REQUIREMENTS

DANCE - Please bring appopriate dance wear (clothes/shoes) as you may be asked to dance.
READ - Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script. Perusal scripts available at the Diamond Head Theatre Box Office, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. Material is copywritten and must be read on -site.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals begin immediately. Rehearsal schedule determined by director.
PERFORMANCES
FUNNY GIRL plays SEPTEMBER 21 OCTOBER 7, 2012 Regular performance times are Thursday and Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 3:00 p.m.* and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
* Saturday 3:00 p.m. matinees are on September 29 and October 6.
