Presents Beauty IS a BEAST Children's Play
October 20-21 & 27-28, 2012

When is beauty not beautiful?
...when her name is Beauty, but her actions are beastly. Written by Emmy Award-winning author, D.M. Bocaz-Larson, Beauty IS a BEAST 'is a magical fairy tale about a spoiled Princess named Beauty who has her life turned inside out.

Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center's presents its fall children's show. The 12+ person cast from Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center (KHSPAC) will perform the play at the school auditorium.

Targeted for younger audiences, but fun for all ages, Beauty IS a BEAST will be performed on Saturdays, October 20 and 27 at 7 p.m., with 3 p.m. matinees on October 21 and 28. Kids under three are free, ages 3 to 4 are $3, and students, military and seniors with I.D. are $5. Adult tickets are $10. Box office opens thirty-minutes before each performance for ticket sales.

Kaimuki High School is located at 2705 Kaimuki Ave., between Kapahulu Ave. and Kapiolani Blvd.

ABOUT KHSPAC: Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center offers classes in acting, music, dance and technical theater at no cost to public school students all over Oahu. The program's mission is based on the belief that performing arts develop important life skills including discipline, teamwork, creativity, self-awareness, confidence, focus and appreciation of the performing arts. Under the direction of M.J. Matsushita, the program and its musical and dramatic productions involve about 160 students who present three major productions per school year. KHSPAC is one of three Department of Education learning centers for performing arts on Oahu.

This year KHSPAC has been selected to participate in the Hawaii Alliance for Art Education matching grant program. Individual and business donations to the Learning Center will be matched by HAAE up to $5900. Any donations are welcomed!
