Jeff Peterson & Friends -- Back in the Day, Benefit Concert for Hawaiʻi Public Radio

Award-winning guitarist Jeff Peterson returns for his third benefit concert for HPR on Sunday, August 9 at 4:00 pm. This year, Peterson invites Hawaiian music legend Keola Beamer, kumu hula Moanalani Beamer, vocalist and bass virtuoso Nathan Aweau, and hula dancer Kawena Mechler to join him for "Jeff Peterson & Friends - Back in the Day."

The program for this time-traveling kanikapila includes favorite tunes from the Hawaiian music renaissance, recollections of those early years, and a look at Hawaiʻi's musical future. Music CDs will be available for purchase and an autograph session with the artists follows the concert.

HPR takes its annual road trip from its Kāheka Street studios to the Palikū Theatre on the Windward Community College campus for this benefit concert. Both previous presentations by Peterson and musical friends on behalf of Hawaiʻi Public Radio sold out in advance and early reservations are recommended. Tickets may be purchased at www.hprtickets.org or by calling (808) 955-8821 weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
