ABOUT BEAD IT Bead It! was born in 1992. It all started when Brendan Barry (a manager of a restaurant at the time) along with his wife Jill and son were visiting California. Brendan was in seminars all day and Jill found herself wandering into a little bead store. She immediately fell in love with the beads and shared this new interest with her husband. Brendan was overcome with nostalgia as he remembered when he used to make jewelry as a teen. From there, they started to dream of owning a business together so that they might have more time with their growing family. As they planted this little bead dream they never imagined it would grow to be the beautiful, blossoming bead business it is today.
Much of the success is due to hard work and principals that the Barry's have invested in the company. They take great pride in their products and most items are still hand selected by the both of them. Not only do we have great products but we also carry a huge selection of beads, findings, books, string, wire and everything else you'd need to create the jewelry of your dreams. They have also established a service oriented & friendly staff at the two busy stores. They strive to provide challenging and fun classes to broaden the minds of beginners and advance beaders.
In addition to the three stores on Oahu, Bead It! maintains two websites. The first is www.ibeads.com, our informational website. The other is www.beadgirlbags.com, where we sell cute & stylish bags and totes for all you Bead Girls out there. Bead It! also participates in several bead & wholesale shows throughout the year.
Bead It! is also a strong believer in helping our community. We participate in a student internship as well as an adult employee placement program. Several times a year we have grade schoolers tour our store to learn more about beads and business. We also join in our communities in Kaimuki at the annual block party and the Kailua 4th of July Parade to help promote all the businesses in the area.
