ABOUT
At Chef Kathi we are not caterers but we do cater to you, your desires, your needs, likes and dislikes. We provide weekly meals including a hot meal waiting for you when you get home from a hard day at work after picking up the kids. Planning your son's or daughter's wedding but don't know what to do for the night before the wedding and all those friends and relatives that flew in from the mainland? We can help with that! At Chef Kathi we are great at bringing people together and creating an atmosphere of Aloha, great food, friends and fun! Whether you are looking for an intimate dinner for a loved one, a business 5 -- course dinner to impress your boss or something different for the annual holiday party, we can plan, shop, cook and follow through with every aspect of having your guests say "Wow! Now that was a great party!" We at Chef Kathi want to not only create great food, but a memorable event for you, even if and especially if it's a weekly meal for you and your family.

BIO
When I turned 40, I began thinking about what to do for a living that would make me truly happy. Previously I was Director of Creative Development for a company that made quilts and bedding in China. Although I enjoyed the work, I could remember a time when I was hands- on. I loved designing but like many careers, moving "up the ladder" was access to a better living. More money meant less time designing and more time managing.
I have always loved to cook. I learned from my mother when I was about 12 years old. My mother had hurt her back and couldn't get out of bed for 2 weeks. She said I would have to make dinner. She would tell me what to do; I would run down the stairs and into the kitchen, following her instructions. Back up the stairs for what to do next, back down the stairs and into the kitchen. I would repeat this several times until dinner was ready for my family. Good food and I got out of doing the dishes, a really big thing when you're 12!

Many years later, I thought I would blend my love of cooking, use of color and design and move onto yachts where I could "sail the big blue". Essentially I have been a private chef for nearly eight years only the people who I cook for change on a weekly basis. I love creating good food that is healthy and fresh. I flourish in an environment where I am acknowledged and have the opportunity to search for local, fresh ingredients. I love to see people; especially children eat fish or other foods and vegetables they never liked before. I welcome a challenge and take great pride in my art.
