Join HWBC for afternoon tea at Tea At 1024 as we highlight some of Hawaii's most prominent and successful women business owners.
Our featured speaker of the month will share with you her journey as a business owner -- from the rocky beginning through the challenging hardships and exciting breakthroughs. This is our chance to pick another woman's brain and gain insightful knowledge in an intimate setting. We can learn a great deal through seminars and workshops, but real life experiences can teach us different lessons. This will also be a great opportunity to catch up with old friends or meet new ones over tea, sandwiches and sweets!
About our Featured Woman Business Owner
Dr. Tyrie Lee Jenkins, an accomplished ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, provides outstanding eye care to patients of all ages. She has built both her ophthalmology practice and her community service around the same principle -- compassionate care. She is the medical director of the Laser Eye Center of Hawai'i, where she performs her laser eye surgeries. Nationally recognized for her work in laser refractive surgery, she was named twice by VISX as one of the top 100 eye surgeons in the country. In May 2005, the YWCA of Honolulu selected Dr. Jenkins as one of four Hawaii women recognized at its annual Leader Luncheon. Pacific Business News has recognized her twice as part of their Women Who Mean Business program, and the Small Business Administration named her Oahu's Women in Business Advocate of 2004.
