Lavenberg has worked for Chaminade's Office of Student Activities and Leadership (OSAL) for nearly two years. She also serves as Chaminade's student body president, is very active in community service both on and off campus and participates in Chaminade's service learning program."The quality of Amanda's work is superior," said Amy Loyd, director of Chaminade's OSAL and Lavenberg's employer. "She completes every task to the very best of her ability. Every project that she completes for me includes all of the required components along with the extra touches. As a result, the projects turn out better than I envisioned them." The university plans to more formally honor Lavenberg at its annual co-curricular awards night on April 29. WASEA will award her $50 for her regional win and $100 for her school win. WASEA is a non-profit association of professionals involved with programs for students who work while attending college. The association supports and promotes student employment through research, professional development and the exchange of information. The student employee of the year honorees are selected across the country annually in celebration of National Student Worker Appreciation Week. Celebrating more than 50 years of educating students for life, service and successful careers, Chaminade University offers programs of study grounded in the liberal arts with day, evening, online and accelerated courses.
