Representative Barbara Marumoto Elected Treasure of Women in Government (WIG)


PRESS RELEASE

Honolulu - Representative Barbara Marumoto [R-19th Dist) has been elected Treasure of a national women's legislative organization, Women in Government (WIG). The WIG state directors meeting began in Laguna Niguel, California on January 7th and ended on January 9th. It addressed legislative issues and to elect the Executive Board.

Katie Dorsett of South Carolina will be the new President. The WIG meets several times a year around the country to discuss issues such as energy, health, education, and state finances.

In 2001 Representative Marumoto served as president of another women's legislative organization, The Women's Network of the National Conference of State Legislatures.
