ABOUT DIAMOND HEAD THEATRE - FILL OUT FORM TO GET SCHEDULE EMAILED TO YOU>>>

Since 1915, Diamond Head Theatre (DHT) has served as the Broadway of the Pacific, producing Hawaii's best live musicals and advancing theatrical arts through opportunity and education. Hawaii's finest local talent, guest artists from around the world, and quality education programs have made DHT a community centerpiece where creative expression is cultivated.

Each season DHT offer six mainstage productions, including five major musicals, on a scale that rivals that of Broadway. And there is a chance to take a peek behind the curtain during our Talk Back -- an inside look at the artistic process of the theatre in which audiences get to meet and talk to the creative forces that turn a script into a full-fledged production.

Through a variety of classes designed for all ages, DHT has been nurturing creativity in the community. Thousands of children and adults fine tune their craft and express their talent in year-round classes in acting, voice and dance such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and flamenco. The theatre also offers a Homeschool Performing Arts Program, the Musical Theatre Experience Summer Program, and special workshops.

The Diamond Head Theatre "Shooting Stars", a youth performing troupe, have entertained audiences for over 10 years with an extensive repertoire of show tunes and choreography. They have performed in New York at City Center, and locally at Washington Place, Hilton Hawaiian Village, in Jim Nabors' Christmas show, with the Honolulu Symphony, as well as their own stage productions.

And what has kept DHT thriving over the decades is its cast of volunteers. From center stage to back stage, more than 400 volunteers are current stewards of the theatre's success. All shows are cast, built and produced with the aid of hundreds of volunteers who contribute time, talent and energy.

DHT is the nation's third-oldest, continuously operating community theatre. DHT is proud of its 93-year history and enthusiastic about its growth and future.
