“Dead Man Walking” author Helen Prejean to lecture here in March
What: The Mackey Marianist Lecture Series presents “Dead Man Walking: The Journey Continues”
Who: Co-hosted by Saint Louis School, the Marianist Center of Hawaii and Chaminade University of Honolulu, the lecture features Sister Helen Prejean, CSJ, of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille. Author of Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States published in 1993 and The Death of Innocents: An Eyewitness Account of Wrongful Executions published 2004 both by Random House, Sr. Prejean is a passionate advocate for eliminating the death penalty.
What: The lecture will discuss the issue of capital punishment. Sister Prejean will be available to autograph copies of her books, which will also be available for purchase at the event.
When: Sunday, Mar. 11, 2007, at 4 p.m.
Cost: Free. No reservations are needed. Seating will be on a first-come first-serve basis. |
