 Things Japanese Sale
- Event Name: Things Japanese Sale
- Location of the event: Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i (JCCH) Community Gallery & Gift Shop
- Date and Time: Saturday, August 18 – Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007. Open Tuesday – Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Description of event: Find all “things Japanese” and a treasure trove of other unique Japanese clothing, dish sets, antique items and collectibles at this annual two-week sale. “There is a multitude of treasured items in our inventory, and more items will be put out every day,” said Christy Takamune, the JCCH gallery director. “Whether you are looking for that one-of-a-kind gift—like an extravagant and elegant kimono and obi that can be displayed as a wall hanging—or precious ningyo¯ (dolls) that come in their original glass cases or antique tea and dish sets that were made in Japan—this sale is the place to find everything Japanese related.”
- Community donations of the items enable the JCCH to present this annual sale. All sale proceeds go toward the JCCH’s educational programs and cultural activities presented throughout the year.
- Cost/Entry Fee: Admission is free. JCCH members receive 50% off select items (excludes books and select merchandise).
