The Arc in Hawaii is a non-profit organization helping Hawaii's citizens with developmental disabilities. This year our 21st Century Distinguished Service Award honors Gail Yogi, of the state Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division.
 Gail Yogi has been an agent of change for her entire career. As a Special Education Teacher at Waimano Training School and Hospital, she saw first-hand the need to move individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities out of an institutional setting and into community-based living. Once that was done, Gail truly found her calling in helping to ensure the availability of essential services and supports in a community setting, including helping to design and implement training models for direct service providers, among them The Arc in Hawaii.
In honor of her many contributions to the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as her proven commitment to “helping the helpers”, The Arc in Hawaii presents our 21st Century Distinguished Service Award for 2008 to Gail Yogi.
Please join us for a great evening featuring a buffet dinner, no-host bar, silent auction and entertainment. Event proceeds go to benefit our clients in Hawaii.
