FOCUS: THE LEGISLATURE - Furlough Friday Workshop

Presented by The Hogan Entrepreneurial Program at Chaminade University in collaboration with Hawaii State Representative Glenn Wakai

Date & Time: The workshop will be held on Friday, March 5th from 8:00am to 12:30pm

Location: The State Capitol building, 415 S. Beretania Street. We will meet in front of the statue of Father Damien at 7:45am. Parking passes can be made available.

Event: The workshop is free of charge and open to high school students, especially for those students interested in community building, leadership and entrepreneurship.

Students will take a tour of the capitol, meet some of the legislators, listen to an inspirational talk by Brian Kajiyama (a Ph.D. student at the University of Hawaii who was born with cerebral palsy and is an inspirational part of the UH Warrior football team as a graduate assistant and coach), conduct a mock session of current issues, and sit in on an actual session of the legislature. Breakfast will also be provided.

Space is limited, so interested students should respond as soon as possible to reserve a spot and come prepared with writing material.
