INNOVATION
Furlough Friday Workshop
Presented by The Hogan Entrepreneurial
Program at Chaminade University in
partnership with Oceanit

DATE & TIME: Friday, May 7th from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Oceanit headquarters at 828 Fort St. Mall, Suite 600,
Honolulu, HI 96813.a

EVENT: The workshop is FREE and open to high school students, especially those interested in science, technology, innovation, and changing the way we interact with our world. Students will participate in various sessions after an introduction to Oceanit’s unique innovation process. A combination of instruction and hands-on lab work for the first part of the day will serve as the foundation for the brainstorming activities in the latter half. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about:

• the creative process
• how science and engineering applies to everyday life
• the processes behind advanced problem-solving tools such as plasma etching and CAD
• the technology and innovation used to create iPhone apps and the varied applications of GPS tagging

With this new knowledge and experience gained, students will be challenged in teams to solve one of the largest problems threatening the health of the ocean’s ecosystem. Prizes will be awarded to the team with the most creative solution. *Lunch will be provided at the workshop.
