 In commemoration of its 36th anniversary and Kikunobu Sensei's legacy of 51 years of Japanese classical dance in Hawai'i, the Onoe Kikunobu Dance Company has assembled a production comparable in artistry and authenticity to what you would find in Japan.
Visiting performers include mainland artist David Furumoto, professor of Asian Theater at the University of Wisconsin; and Japanese artists Onoe Kikunojo II, Headmaster of Onoe School of Dance (Tokyo) and his assistant dance master/choreographer,
Onoe Kikushiro; as well as costumes from Kyoto and wigs from Tokyo. Music will be provided by guest musicians Darin Miyashiro, Yuma Totani, Ayako Masuda, and Yumiko Kubo.
Cost: $25 advance sales, $30 at the door
