On Saturday April 30, 2011, the Rotary Club of East Honolulu will be doing a Community Service Project stenciling storm drains and picking up trash along streets and around schools in Palolo Valley. Club members will meet at Pukele Mini Park, 1415 Pukele off Palolo Ave.

Members will be there from 8 AM to 11:30. For further information about this worthwhile project for Palolo Valley please contact the Rotary Club of East Honolulu Community Service Chair Person, Mark Tagawa at 779-2704.

The first Rotary meeting was held on February 23, 1905 by Chicago attorney, Paul Harris. The Rotary Club of East Honolulu (Club 11) was chartered on May 25, 1959 and we are in District 5000. The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise by developing acquaintances as an opportunity for service; having high ethical standards; applying the ideal of service in our personal, business and community life; and advancing international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship. The FOUR-WAY TEST, created in 1932, is followed by Rotarians worldwide in their business and personal lives and goes like this:
