A Community Involvement Event: Art + Flea Comes to UH Mānoa

Art + Flea will be coming to the UH Mānoa Campus Center Courtyard on Friday, April 15, 2016, from 2-7 p.m. with events throughout Campus Center Courtyard, the Art Building and Legacy Pathway.

Art + Flea is a trending urban market that has received an enthusiastic reception from the UH community. The event is the result of a partnership between UH Mānoa's Student Media Board and Art + Flea. The UH Student Media marketing department felt that the event would promote positive student involvement on campus while engaging community collaboration. Students will be able to interact with the local art and business community. This event is open to students as well as the surrounding community.

The following are some of the highlights of this campus and community event.

The UH Mānoa Campus Activities Board will hold a "Carnival" themed event with games and rides.
UHM fashion program will publicize its 50^th year celebration and hold rummage sales.
UHM theatre department will have the opportunity to showcase its improv through mini performances.
Student entrepreneurs will represent the business program in selling products from student-lead businesses.
UHM Art program will hold an Open Studio event as well as feature local student artists through demonstrations.
In addition to bringing the local art community onto campus, the UH Student Media marketing department has included UH Mānoa Admissions to participate in the event to promote their "Make Mānoa Yours" campaign.
On-campus preschool and Student Parent Program (S.P.A.M) are invited to participate in Art + Flea's family-friendly activities.
Food options will be offered by Manoa Dining services/Sodexo.
Dominos will sponsor a pizza eating competition that will consist of on-campus RIOS. This friendly challenge will allow presence as well as club bonding for RIOS.
