HONOLULU, Hawaii (August 15, 2008) - Diamond Head Theatre (DHT) opens its 94th season with the Hawaii Community Theatre Premiere of LES MISERABLES on Friday, September 26, 2008. Single tickets for LES MISERABLES and the entire 2008-2009 season will go on sale Monday, August 18, 2008.

The 2008-2009 season includes:
LES MISERABLES September 26 - October 12, 2008
PETER PAN December 5 - 21, 2008
SOUVENIR January 30 - February 15, 2009
GYPSY March 20 - April 5, 2009
DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS May 15 - 31, 2009
THE WEDDING SINGER July 10 - 26, 2009

"LES MISERABLES is the favorite musical for many Hawaii residents as evidenced by its successful professional run here several years ago. We are thrilled to be able to present our interpretation as the season opener," said DHT Artistic Director John Rampage. "DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, a hilarious show which on Broadway featured John Lithgow, will have audiences laughing out loud at the crazy antics of two con men. Our final premiere, THE WEDDING SINGER, is well-known to movie goers from the Adam Sandler film, but it is also a successful Broadway pop musical in the genre of "Jersey Boys" and "Hairspray".

"For the rest of the season, during the holidays, we will be doing the heart-warming musical, PETER PAN (December 5 - 21, 2008), with magical 'flying' right on our stage added Rampage. "Our January drama, SOUVENIR is actually a 'play with music', a funny and inspiring story based on the real-life soprano Florence Foster Jenkins. And let's not forget the classic, GYPSY, one of the jewels of American musical theatre."
