DIAMOND HEAD THEATRE PERFORMING ARTS CLASSES
- FALL SESSION BEGINS SEPTEMBER 8th -

HONOLULU, Hawaii (August 4, 2008) - From the song and dance of musical theatre to learning the dynamics of a scene, Diamond Head Theatre's (DHT) Performing Arts Program offers a range of fun and educational classes for children, teens, and adults in acting, voice, and popular dance styles.

The class schedule includes: Acting for Children, Acting for Adults, Broadway Vocal Ensemble Workshop, Broadway Jazz, Contemporary Jazz, Jazz Dance, Flamenco Dance, Hip-Hop, Tap, Adult Ballet - Beginner Basics, Tap for Musical Theatre, Ballet & Tap for Young Dancers, Musical Theatre Experience, and Backstage Basics, which shows you how a set comes to life. The fall session begins on September 8, 2008; classes meet weekly.

In addition to its acting, singing and dancing classes, DHT continues to offer specialty classes for home-schoolers and autistic children. The home school program, started in 2002, has provided home-schoolers socialization opportunities in addition to classes in acting, singing and dancing. Another special offering, by noted instructor and theatre director, Bill Ogilvie, is the class in Creative Drama, for children with high-function Autism and Asperger s Syndrome. Ogilive has taught similar classes for several years at local high schools. Using theater exercises, games, skits, puppets, music improvisation and short plays, the classes allow these children to acquire the tools to learn how to express themselves, understand others and become better adjusted to the world at large.

"We are pleased with the variety of classes our Performing Arts Program offers," says Kelly Moulson, DHT s Director of Education. And we are also glad that our Season Rates continues to be a success. We will again offer up to a 20% savings when signing up for a 'season' of classes."
