HONOLULU March 11, 2009 Chaminade University of Honolulu's Teacher Licensure Programs in the Education Division and Counseling Psychology in the Behavioral Sciences Division will be reviewed by a Hawaii State Approval of Teacher Education Review Team during April 18-22, 2009. This review will determine whether Chaminade University meets the requirements and can continue to provide licensure courses recognized by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) for the programs listed above. The HTSB Performance Standards for teachers and counselors are available at http://www.htsb.org/standards/index.html On behalf of HTSB and its Review Team, Chaminade University invites you to provide input into the HTSB Review of Chaminade's licensure programs in the following areas: o Counseling psychology o Elementary education o Secondary education o Dual licensure in elementary and special education (EA) o Pre-kindergarten through grade three. Your comments regarding the quality of the education and the services provided by these teacher education and counseling psychology programs will assist the team in its review. In the interest of protecting your privacy, your comments should be provided directly to the HTSB.
