Happy New Year! I'm pleased to share with you my updated and redesigned Senate website. I hope my website will be a useful tool for you to learn about my work in the U.S. Senate, research federal issues, request assistance with matters before federal agencies, send me a message, or schedule tours when you visit our Nation's Capital. That is just a sampling of the information and help you can get by visiting my website. I hope to see you, online, soon.
I'm looking forward to a productive and busy 2010. I continue to Chair the Senate's Veterans' Affairs Committee, and the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce, and the District of Columbia. As a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, I am working to reform our financial regulatory structure and better protect, educate, and empower investors and consumers.
I am also a member of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, which recently advanced my Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act of 2009 out of Committee, and the Senate Committee on Armed Services, where my colleagues and I work on issues concerning national security and the Department of Defense.
For the latest news from my office, please visit my website which is updated daily. And please know that I always appreciate hearing your concerns and comments regarding the issues that face our state and our nation.
