The group will also perform new compositions by ensemble director Made Widana. These new works will be used in the January 2016 UH Asian Theater production of a contemporary Balinese dramatic performance accompanied by the UH Balinese Gamelan Ensemble.

The UH Javanese Gamelan ensemble, using Gamelan Kyai Gandrung, will perform repertoire in the styles of various parts of Central Java -- Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Semarang, and Madiun -- as well as Pak Hardja Susilo's arrangement of traditional and contemporary pieces originally used for a 1974 dance drama.
