HPR Names New Director of Marketing, Phyllis S.K. Look

Hawaii Public Radio is pleased to announce the appointment of Phyllis S.K. Look as their new director of marketing. She stepped into her role at the Kaheka Street administrative offices on June 2, 2014, succeeding station stalwart Judy Neale.

Look will provide marketing leadership and develop strategies for branding and promotion of the station's statewide services across nine stations and 11 frequencies, the internet, and social media. In addition, she will coordinate HPR's major live productions, which have included nationally broadcast road shows of A Prairie Home Companion and From the Top, as well as local concerts such as Jeff Peterson & Friends.

"Phyllis was well known to us as one of the visionaries behind Aloha Shorts, to this day one of our most popular locally produced programs," said President and General Manager Michael Titterton. "She epitomizes our mission of community building, and we look forward to the innovative ways that she will find to broaden HPR's audience base and deepen our engagement with our members."

Look brings more than 15 years of experience to her position at HPR. She most recently served as marketing and communications manager for University of Hawai‘i at Manoa's Campus Services division, with a prior stint as community relations specialist at the University's Outreach College. She was formerly general manager and broadcast producer at Honolulu marketing communications agency Loomis-ISC (now Olomana Loomis ISC).

She received her master of fine arts in directing from the Yale School of Drama, and her bachelor's from UH Manoa. She was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai‘i.
