Funeral Arrangements For Chaminade
President Wesselkamper

HONOLULU--January 6, 2009--Funeral arrangements have been finalized for Dr. Mary Civille (Sue) Wesselkamper, Chaminade University's eighth and longest serving president. To celebrate her life, these events will be held:

• Visitation/Wake to be held on Friday, Jan. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Mystical Rose Oratory, on the campus of Chaminade University, 3140 Waialae Avenue, Honolulu, 96816.
  
• Funeral/ Mass of Resurrection to be held on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m., at St. Patrick's Church, 1124 Seventh Avenue, Honolulu 96816. Bishop Larry Silva will be the celebrant for Mass. Father Tim Eden of Chaminade University and Father John Civille, Sue Wesselkamper's brother, will also participate.
  
• Ecumenical Memorial Service, to include eulogies and a performance of the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré, with members of the Honolulu Symphony, to be held at Central Union Church (Beretania and Punahou Streets) at a future date to soon be determined.
  

Wesselkamper died peacefully on January 3, surrounded by family and friends in the comfort of her home. She had taken a medical leave of absence from Chaminade in fall 2008. In December, Chaminade University conferred upon her its degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa, in recognition of her unparalleled accomplishments during her 13-year tenure at Chaminade.

Born on March 27, 1942, she was 66 years old and is survived by husband Dr. Thomas (Tom) Wesselkamper, daughter Suzanne, son David, and two grandsons Samson and Tomas Angel Wesselkamper.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Chaminade University for the endowed scholarship established in Dr. Wesselkamper's name or to the Kaiser Permanente Employee Welfare Fund.
