  • Special Education Center Of Hawaii (SECOH) - Promotes Bridget L. Panee To The Position Of President/CEO

We are happy to announce the promotion of Ms. Bridget L. Panee to the position of President/CEO for SECOH (Special Education Center of Hawaii). SECOH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation committed to providing personalized services to people with disabilities. Ms. Panee has worked for SECOH for 22 years, and was formerly the Vice President Operations.

SECOH was founded in 1965 by Sister Agnes Jerome Murphy of the order of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. SECOH was one of the first private, non-profit schools for children with special needs on the island of Oahu. As island public schools increased their capacity to educate children with special needs, SECOH gradually transitioned its services to include people with disabilities of all ages.

Today, in the spirit of enriching lives, SECOH provides a wide range of personalized services to people with disabilities. SECOH's array of services helps sustain people with disabilities in their community to avoid institutionalization in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities.

Services offered are: Day services for adults with developmental disabilities in five community centers located in Waipahu, Kalihi, Ewa, Ewa Beach and Diamond Head; Adult day-care services for seniors, specializing in supporting people with various forms of dementia at its Diamond Head center; and support services, which include personal assistance, respite and skilled nursing.
