Mission:To provide something that is missing in many people's lives today, and that is a way to relax both the body and mind.
When the body and mind are able to relax completely, the constant stresses of our modern everyday life can be reduced, thus no longer detrimental to our health and well-being.
Now a days, it seems like massage is everywhere; at the gym, chiropractors office, at spas, and even at the airport! So how do you know what you will get when you go to these places? The answer is simple, you usually don't know until you have already paid and you're on the table.
You usually have no idea who your Massage Therapist is or where they were trained. You hope that you are more than just the next appointment.
At B.A.M. our approach is different, each guest at B.A.M. is unique and deserves time to explain what it is he or she wants from the treatment, then receives an exclusively designed custom treatment. The state of Hawaii requires Massage Therapists to hold a Massage Therapy license which is renewed every two years.

ABOUT JOHN BRENT KOFFMAN
John Brent Koffman graduated from The Swedish Institute for Massage and Allied Health Sciences in NYC. He is a full-time Licensed Massage Therapist licensed in New York and Hawaii. He specializes in Sport Therapy, Swedish, Shiatsu, Kiatsu, Medical Massage and a Lomi-inspired style of the traditional Hawaiian Massage.
Also certified by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners, he attended and received a diploma from the State Licensed School for Professional Hypnotherapy Training Institute under the Direction of Randal Churchill and Marleen Mulder in Corte Madera, California. In order to hone his skills, he also trained with Patrick Coleman in Pain Management for Clinical Hypnotherapy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
His thirst for knowledge has taken him around the world. He has studied in Germany where he trained with Herr Montag, Sports Masseur for the German National Football team, and Peter Mahler where he learned Lymphatic Drainage massage. He studied Kiatsu under Sensei Tohei in Utsunomiya, Japan and has also traveled to Thailand to learn Thai massage techniques.
His love of horses allowed him the opportunity to meet and learn from Robert Altman and Jack Meagher, known for their Sports Therapy work with the Equestrian Olympic Team and high-profile thoroughbreds throughout the United States. The exposure of this approach to massage left such a strong impression, that it has become the foundation for all of his preventative and rehabilitative massage work.
He moved to Hawaii in 1986 to study Shin Shin Toitsu Akido with Sensei Tabata, where he reached the level of San Dan and still trains in martial arts today at Gracie Jui Jitsu with Andre Derizans. During his initial months in Hawaii, he was blessed to meet Ms. Marion Machado, a distant relative of famed Lomi Lomi healer Margret Machado. Through hours of oral history of her life, Hawaii and the Hawaiian people, "talk story" as well as learning practical aspects of Lomi Lomi by a native practitioner, he was able to appreciate the beauty, value and connection of this ancient healing art to Hawaii itself.
After assisting in the opening of award-winning SpaHalekulani in 2003, JB bas been blessed to help bring relaxation and pain relief to people traveling from as far as South Africa and Mongolia, and everywhere in between. "I am grateful for all of my teachers and everyone that I have come in contact with. I believe that if I listen intently enough, I can learn something from everyone."
