Description/Comments
Transitional Employment
  • Is a fair and equal partnership between business and Clubhouse
A Clubhouse is a Rehabilitation Program for adults with psychiatric disabilities who are striving to become more productive and self-sufficient individuals in their community.

The Transitional Employment Program, a central component of the Clubhouse, is designed to transition our members back into the work-force by providing employment opportunities through partnership with business.

Working Together...
Daily tasks at the Clubhouse are accomplished by the members and staff working together. Some areas of which skills are developed are: clerical, administrative, academic, food service, horticulture, maintenance and facilities, reception, retail, and social.

Transitional Emploment Program (TEP)
The Transitional Employment Program (TEP) is designed to mainstream our members into job opportunities through partnerships with businesses in our community. In addition to adding to the productivity of a business, TE employment helps members regain their self-confidence and build job skills.

**BASIC COMMITMENTS**

Clubhouse To Employer

Clubhouse will:
  • Screen the proposed job in advance to determin its suitability for Transitional Employment.
  • Ensure that the Job Placement Managers (our staff personelle) learn the job at no cost.
  • Ensure that the Job Placement Manager trains your new employee, provides job coaching and follow-up.
  • Provide job coverage when employee is absent.
  • Provide placements to last approximately 6-9 months, and expedite new placement when term is finished.
  • Give highest priority to maintenance of the Transitional Employment Position (TEP).
Allow the Clubhouse to determine which potential employee will be given a job placement opportunity.

Employer To Clubhouse

Employer will:
  • Offer employment opportunities at wages equal to that of others having essentially the same responsibilities.
  • Consult with Job Placement Managers before making substantial changes in job description.
  • Not use Transitional Employment as a screening mechanism for hiring full time, independent workers.
Clubhouse Motto
“E holomua Kakou me Ke Alu like”
