The Wiz Kids Learning Centers have developed a successful method of teaching math, reading and writing for students grade K-12. Individual lessons are given after regular school hours and on Saturdays. The centers also prepare students for private school entrance examinations.
Lessons at Wiz Kids are 70 minutes long and are less expensive than similar learning centers. The student/tutor ratio is 2:1. Pre - and post - tests are given without charge. We have a variety of payment plans to fit your budget.

Wiz Kids was founded in 1994 by veteran teacher Scott Evans. Scott has 14 years teaching experience at Pearl City High and Lehua Elementary Schools.
Wiz Kids tutors are mostly university students and many are on their way to becoming certified teachers. Some are already certified; all are professional, enthusiastic, and responsible. All tutors are well trained in the Wiz Kids methods of instruction.

Lessons at Wiz Kids are designed to accommodate students at any ability level. All students (remedial, average, and gifted) benefit because the programs are personalized.
The first step in developing a program for new students is an evaluative math or reading test. This determines the specific strengths and weaknesses of each student.
The test enables Wiz Kids tutors to develop a program that is carefully tailored to each student. The content of every lesson is individualized with exercises appropriate to the student's abilities.
Wiz Kids students work with highly trained professional tutors who collaborate to ensure that each student is receiving challenging work at their own level and pace.
Educational materials are chosen and updated to match the student's progress. Computer programs are assigned to supplement each skill. Students receive individual attention and instruction, not merely a collection of worksheets.

We offer lessons Monday - Saturday year round. This is our basic schedule. On school days, the first lesson is at 2:30. When you register we look at both our schedule and yours to see what works for both of us.
During Christmas and spring school breaks we have special programs and schedules.
WHERE we are Located in Honolulu, Wiz Kids serves the island of O'ahu with two centers, one in Pearl City and one in Kaimuki.
