• Remembering "Clarence T. C. Ching Day"

IN RECOGNITION OF "CLARENCE T. C. CHING DAY" -- June 2, 2012


Clarence T. C. Ching was born and raised on a small farm in Anahola, Kauai, the fifth of 11 children born to Cantonese immigrants. He was a realtor, developer, affordable housing pioneer, banker and philanthropist. He established the Clarence T. C. Ching Foundation in 1967, one of the largest grant-making organizations in Hawaii, whose mission is to carry out the vision and legacy of Mr. Ching for the benefit of the Hawaii community and its residents.

On June 2nd, 2012, the Foundation will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Clarence T. C. Ching's birthday, his life of achievement, inspiration and humility.

To honor this impressive businessman and humanitarian, both the Governor of the State of Hawaii and the Mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, have proclaimed June 2, 2012, to be "Clarence T. C. Ching Day."
