Screenprint Reusable Napkin Sets & Tote Bags
Make your own reusable napkin set and bag to go with your new bamboo utensil set and other items from Kokua Hawaii Foundation (see below). Artist April Sham of ASHAM Prints will be here to help you screenprint cloth napkins and tote bags with her adorable designs on them!

    Felted Ornaments
Create an adorable mini snowperson ornament! Our felting instructor, Wendy Ikeda, will teach you how to use a needle and wool to create an eco-friendly snowperson ornament that will make a wonderful holiday gift. Because of the sharp needle this activity is appropriate for ages 7 & up (possibly 6 with adult assistance).

    Rainbow Trash-to-Treasure Kits
Cut down on waste and help support our children’s art programs by purchasing one of our fun DIY art kits. All kits are made from donated materials and assembled by our amazing volunteers. This year we’ve been bottling them in all the colors of the rainbow! Choose from Pretty Pink, Rockin’ Red, Obsessed with Orange, Yay for Yellow, Galactic Green, Bottle of Blue, Purple Power, and Winter White.

Keep in mind that no two kits are exactly alike, and that’s what makes them special! Take yours home and make art that’s as unique as you are. And don’t be afraid to add other recycled materials that you find around the house: Cardboard, bottle caps, shopping bags, discarded gift wrap, boxes and paper towel rolls all make fun additions to any creative reuse project.

    Decorate Handmade Candles
Grab a candle and get busy decorating! We’ll provide handmade candles in reused glass jars. You get to decorate (decoupage!) to your heart’s content. The perfect example of a cute, useful, and earth-friendly holiday gift.

    Local Artisans
Need some gifts and stocking stuffers? Shop eco-friendly, handmade items from local artisans. Products include beautiful tea towels and other merchandise by ASHAM Prints, natural soaps from the Indigenous Soap Company, adorable upcycled ornaments and jewelry by Sassy Artist Studios, and natural holiday decorations by the very talented Malia Lagaso. Please note that these products are all one-of-a-kind so they will be similar to the images below but we can’t guarantee that these exact products will be at Reuse mART.

    Gifts from Kokua Hawaii Foundation
Our friends from Kōkua Hawai`i Foundation will be here doing a unique activity that can be a wonderful and thoughtful holiday gift for the special people in your life. They will have various types of locally grown tea and you can fill your own tea bags, then choose a mug and give someone the gift of a healthy and calming cup of tea. They will also have eco-friendly items for sale such as bamboo utensil sets, metal straws, and more, so we can all live a little more Plastic Free.

New & Gently Used Art Supplies
So many amazing art & craft supplies are donated to Art Explorium and we just can’t use everything we get. Pick up some high-quality beads and scrapbooking flowers while you are here!

    Free Art Activities
We’re making holiday cards and ornaments out of recycled and donated materials. Make them as a family or let the kids get creative while adults shop our gift section.

About
Art Explorium provides a community art studio to nurture the creative potential in children.

Art Explorium is a non-profit organization in Kaimuki that provides art opportunities for youth. Stop by and try out our art stations.

Description
Nurturing tomorrow’s creative thinkers

Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every person’s growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!

Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.

We plan to offer art classes, birthday parties and more. But for now we are starting with Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!

General Information
Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.

We also plan to offer art classes soon!
