• PUC-DP vs Sustainable Communities

Ewa and the Primary Urban Center are the areas where major growth in population and economic activity will be directed over the next 20 years and beyond. Their plans are titled “Development Plans” to serve as policy guides for development decisions and actions required to support the major growth.

The remaining six O‘ahu planning regions, including East Honolulu, are envisioned to remain relatively stable. Their plans are titled “Sustainable Communities Plans” and are oriented toward maintaining and enhancing the ability to sustain each area’s unique character and lifestyle
