Rejcha’s Trio No. 6 in A Major, op. 101
Martinů’s Trio No. 2 in D Minor
Mendelssohn Trio No. 1 in D minor, Op. 49

Shortly after forming in 2019, this Czech piano trio’s talent and deep musicality became apparent after winning top prizes in prestigious competitions, including the Gianni Bergamo Award in Lugano, the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Vienna, and London’s Parkhouse Award. Their meteoric rise has led to concert tours throughout Europe, including the Musikverein in Vienna and Wigmore Hall in London. The trio won the 2024 Presto Music Award for Debut Album of the Year. We’re honored to have them make their Hawai‘i debut with HCMS.

UH Mānoa Contemporary Music Ensemble Concert

A celebration of the 90th birthday of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt with performances of a variety of pieces that emulate his spiritual, minimalist style.

Featured on the program are his Für Alina (solo piano), Two Lullabies (voices and piano), as well as two works for string quartet, Fratres and Psalom.

Also on the program are works by Paul Gabriel Cosme (featuring Ron Querian, kulintang), Joanna Bailie and Andy Akiho.
