Hawaiian Electric to sponsor 2012 MATHCOUNTS® Competitions with $10,000 Contribution.
The Hawaii Society of Professional Engineers Educational Foundation, organizers of the MATHCOUNTS® Oahu Chapter and Hawaii State competitions, has received a $10,000 contribution from Hawaiian Electric Company.

The funds will be combined with other sponsor contributions to host the 29th annual MATHCOUNTS Oahu Chapter competition on February 25, 2012 at Punahou School and the Hawaii State competition on March 3, 2012 at Iolani School.

MATHCOUNTS is a national enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement. The top four "mathletes" from each state will compete at the national competition in Orlando, Florida on May 11, 2012.
