Upcoming Workshops ...
Try Some New Workshops in 2014!
Art is great for kids' fine motor skill development, creative thinking, and it's also just plain fun! Why not try something new in 2014 and sign up for one of our upcoming workshops?
• Super Solar System, Sunday, January 12, 1-2:30 pm, $15, ages 4 & up - Learn about planets and space, and make your own mini solar system model.
• New Year Photo Jam, Sunday, January 19, 1-2:30 pm, $15, all ages - Bring in special photos from 2013 and make creative displays and frames.
• Sewing for Chinese New Year, Sunday, January 26, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, $18, ages 4 & up - Learn to sew fabric fortune cookies and a firecracker garland to celebrate Chinese New Year!
• Shippo: Japanese Enameling, Sunday, January 26, 1-2:30 pm, $20, ages 5 & up - Learn the ancient art of Shippo, and create colorful jewel-like enamel art.
• Puppet Theatre (2-part workshop - must attend both), Sundays, February 2 & 9, 1-2:30 pm, $25 for both sessions, ages 4 & up - Create unique puppet characters and also learn acting skills in this interactive workshop.
These workshops are all posted on our web site and we invite you to take a look and register today. Please note that pre-registration is required for workshops. We look forward to seeing you at a workshop in our studio soon.
Try our "Little Artists" Workshops for Your Own Little Artist!
We are excited to continue our Little Artists program, which features classes on Friday mornings. These workshops are geared toward children who aren't in school yet or who are home-schooled. We always have fun and learn a lot from instructor Harmony Turner from Harmsastar, a group that focuses on dance, yoga and education for all ages. There are two Little Artist Workshops coming up:
• Young Yogi Art, Friday, January 24, 9:30-11:00 am, $15, all ages - Participants will learn yoga basics and also create brand-new, kid-friendly poses of their own!
• Fairytale Frenzy, Friday, February 14, 9:30-11:00 am, $15, all ages - Join us as we combine dance, theater and art to bring to life some of your favorite classic fairy tales.
The Little Artists workshops are also posted on our web site and we invite you to take a look and register today. Please note that pre-registration is required for workshops.
3rd Fridays Kaimuki: January 17
In addition to our regular Open Studio hours this month we will be open on Friday, January 17 from 6-9 pm for Third Fridays Kaimuki, a monthly celebration of our neighborhood and community. Guest artist Danica Robson will be here with some unique and fun art activities. Drop by! Regular $5 Open Studio rate applies, no pre-registration required.
Happy Year of the Horse!
Our favorite reuse expert Aunty Lani will be here on Wednesday, January 22 from 2-4 for Chinese New Year Art Activities. Come by and celebrate the Year of the Horse! Regular $5 rate applies, no pre-registration required.--

• Sat, 1 pm - 4 pm
We will also be open on Friday, December 20 from 6-9 pm for Third Fridays Kaimuki.

Art Explorium provides a fun, safe place where children of all ages have the opportunity and the permission to create freely. We firmly believe that art experiences are an important part of every person's growth and development. So... WE provide the space and materials, YOU provide the ideas and make them happen!
Art Explorium strives to be an eco-friendly organization. Many of the art materials in our studio are items that would normally be thrown in the landfill (old pieces of fabric, used bottle caps, small boxes, magazines, ribbon, etc.). We collect these used materials from our friends and local businesses, and Art Explorium visitors give these items a new life as art.
We offer art classes, birthday parties, and field trips to our studio. We also offer Open Studio time - come on in with your family and dabble in one or all of our art stations which offer activities like painting, sculpting, drawing, making mosaics and more. See you there!

Come on by! During Open Studio time you are free to drop in, use our space and materials and explore the process of creating.
We also offer art classes, birthday parties and field trips to our studio!
