HPR Announces Winter Concert Lineup
(HONOLULU) Hawai‘i Public Radio, a statewide community-supported radio network, announces the Atherton Studio Concerts winter lineup.

November 9 - The Honolulu Jazz All-Stars with Doug MacDonald
Jazz guitarist Doug MacDonald returns to HPR's Atherton studio accompanied by Honolulu's top jazz musicians. 
November 16 - Naomi Niskala
In partnership with Ebb & Flow Arts, the Atherton Studio welcomes classical pianist Naomi Niskala for an evening of works by Arnold Schoenberg, Roger Sessions, Vivian Fine, Robert Helps, and Leos Janacek. 
November 23 - Saloon Pilots
The Saloon Pilots return to the studio with another fun filled evening of bluegrass and bluegrass-inspired music. Their last performance at the Atherton was a sold-out show.
December 7 - Paul Izak
Homegrown artist Paul Izak makes his Atherton Studio debut with an evening of folk, rock, and reggae songs inspired by the land and life in the islands. 
December 14 - Celtic Waves
Celebrate the winter solstice with a "feast" of traditional Irish tunes. Celtic Waves presents a joyous evening of fiddles, flute, percussion, and voices. 
December 28 - Thunderstorm Artis
Returning from a recent mainland tour, singer songwriter Thunderstorm Artis returns to HPR's studio with a concert featuring songs about life, love, and music. He'll also share some new music that he's written on the road.  
January 4 - Yin and Yang: an Exploration of Opposites
Start off the new year with a show from Maikaʻi Nash, featuring songs exploring both sides of the story. 
January 25 - Hawaii Opera Theatre: Great American Voices
Enjoy an evening with singers from Hawaii Opera Theatre sharing opera classics and songs from musical theatre, all from American composers. 
February 8 - Carlos Barbosa-Lima
HPR Members-only event! Brazilian guitarist Carlos Barbosa-Lima returns to the Atherton with a concert featuring his own arrangements of solo guitar works.  
FRIDAY February 14 - In Love with Cole Porter featuring Shari Lynn and Kip Wilborn
Singers Shari Lynn and Kip Wilborn, along with jazz pianist Jim Howard, take you on a journey through the life of American jazz icon and composer Cole Porter in story and song. 

About the Atherton Performing Arts Studio
The Atherton Studio seats up to 75 people and hosts intimate performances that are often like sitting in on a studio recording session. All concerts are on Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, unless otherwise noted. Advance ticket purchase is strongly encouraged, as Atherton events frequently sell out before the performance date.

HPR-1 broadcasts news, talk, entertainment, jazz, blues, and world music. Its FM frequencies on O‘ahu (KHPR 88.1, K203EL 88.5); Maui, Moloka‘i, and Lāna‘i (KKUA 90.7); Hawai‘i island (KANO 89.1, KHPH 88.7, KKUA 90.7,  K235CN 94.9, K239BV 95.7); and Kauaʻi (KHPR 88.1 and KIPL/KIPL-FM 89.9). HPR-2, "your home for classical music" is found on Oʻahu (KIPO 89.3, K264BL 100.7); Maui, Moloka‘i, Lāna‘i (KIPM 89.7, plus KIPH 88.3 in Hana); Hawai‘i island (KIPH 88.3, KIPM 89.7, KAHU 91.3, and K283CR 104.5) and Kaua‘i (KIPO 89.3; K269GD 101.7). HPR is online and streaming at hawaiipublicradio.org; as well as on Facebook (FB/hawaiipublicradio), TwitterInstagram, and other social media platforms (@WeAreHPR™).
