MR. JEFF's SUMMER FUN SHOWS

9 Sessions @ 9:30am, each 40 minutes

Tuesdays July 7,14, 21 - Little Kidz Tales (K-3 grade)

Wednesdays July 8, 15, 22 - Folktales (2nd grade & up)

Thursdays July 9,16, 23 - Hawai'i Spookies (3rd grade & up)

Mr. Jeff LOVES to tell stories to kids! Invite him into your program virtually this July FREE (thanks to UH SCEP Program!) Jeff Gere has been telling stories to Summer Fun kids for 30 years (27 as the Drama Specialist in Parks Dept. & 5 more years after he retired (end of 2014) too. He tours internationally (in pre-virus life.) And now via ZOOM!

TO SIGN UP FOR A SHOW…..

  1. Create an email Subject: SCEP : Jeff Gere
  2. The email will be sent to: csinfo@hawaii.edu

3) Message: From the list below, copy & paste in the programs you want to

watch. If there is another email address you wish us to use contacting you,

please include that other email in your message.

4) Response: SCEP will send back an email confirming your reservation This

email will receive a note confirming your reservation.

5) On Day of the Show, about 30 minutes before it starts at 9:30,

csinfo@hawaii.edu will email to your designated email the Zoom link.

6) Show: Click on the Zoom link, allow Zoom audio & video, & enjoy the show.

Please remember to leave your mic OFF so everyone enjoys the show.

All shows start at 9:30 sharp & run about 40 minutes.

PROGRAMS:

7/7 PARTICIPATION TALES Bird with Hurt Wing (20 minutes) Helping the helpless brings a reward, but some have a greedy heart. Big Fat Frog Can kids swallow flies? More Short tales use a call & response + gestures = very active!

7/8 JACK & EVIL MOUNTAIN SPIRIT Intense! Confronting Darkness brings freedom & light. What a journey! Old Rink Rank: Power comes when she says, "I will change my life." Both are old favorites.

7/9 PANUI A stone prevents a murder of Japanese/Hawaiian lovers.

That leads to the CC Camp, where strange things happen at night!

7/14 SILLY N' SPOOKY Get On The Bus! a girl faces a barking dog

Zipper Hero boy helps an embarrassed boy. Under The Banyan there's a white thing glowing! Aiea Heiua Nightmarchers… laughing? The Glove on the clothes line is moving! Delicious suspense ends in a laugh.

7/15 FOOLING THE DEVIL A bright girl with a sharp tongue is fooled, then fools, & escapes. The man helping her fools that devil again.

King & Goat Head time moves forward, but it also has depth & width.

7/16 OLD MILILANI GRAVEYARD Foolish teens discover it's full of spirits.

Sensative After a show, a lady who sees spirits tells of being possessed.

7/21 TEACHING TALES Aesop & Jataka (Buddhist tales) entwine with talking animals & stories to give us life lessons.

7/22 ADVENTURES! Selkie & Wonder tales, Pele & Kamapua'a, all new tales that stuck in Jeff's head, but are new to his tongue.

7/23 PELE TALES True: people meet Pele & tell Jeff (for 30 years.) Pele burns a man, a woman's parents each met her, & she visits pig hunters.

ISSUES:

TECH on YOUR SIDE Don't ask me for help with your receiving devices, iphones, laptops, City computers, & video projectors… ask your summer aides for advice. I just tell the stories.

YES, gather as many listeners as you like.

YES, see as many shows as you like. Sure, see them all if you like.

YES, I want to enrich your program with stories!

These shows are FREE, but you'll be asked to answer a SCEP (host & technology) QUESTIONAIRE. Please respond. Your answers help with reporting & continuing grant support.

Zoom's WEBINAR format does not allow a view of the audience. We won't be able to see your children. It is not an issue.
